David’s Answer
Regardless of the area you want to major, there are some universal skills that every employer is looking for, you should start by doing your resume and compare it to a professional´s resume from the same major or career, then you can see what hardskills and softskill you are missing, that is a little hard but try, specially softskill, a lot of positions has the same softskill requirements, most of the time those are the ones that give you a little push up in the interview. Another methods could be look out for job offers and see skills needed and then compared it to your resume.

Whenever you see working skills for a job, they are pointing out the skills necessary to be successful at the job. If they are something you think you could do with a little training, then don't be afraid to apply. Just let them know that you don't have the skill yet, but feel confident it will not be an issue if they are willing to teach you.
