Hi Briana. To become a licensed cosmetologist in Utah, you will need to do a couple of things 1st. You will need to complete a state-approved cosmetology program from a licensed cosmetology school. You can do a search for approved cosmetology schools in your area. You will have to complete a minimum number of training hours as well. Passing the state cosmetology exam is also a requirement after completing the hours. And finally you will need to apply for the cosmetology license. Here is the link to the specific details of what is needed for the state of Utah. https://dopl.utah.gov/cosmetology/contact-us/. To get the most accurate and up-to-date requirements, give them a call. Good Luck!

To become a certified cosmetologist in Utah, you need to complete 1600 hours of training at a recognized beauty school or gain 2500 hours of experience working under a licensed cosmetologist as an apprentice.
The cost of tuition will depend on the program and the location of the school. Remember, there's a $50 application fee that's non-refundable for all programs.
For instance, if you choose to study at the Salt Lake campus, you'll need to budget $15,000 for tuition. Additionally, you should set aside $2,500 for the cosmetology kit you'll need.
