Sam’s Answer

Hello Juan Carlos,

I would suggest YouTube videos for the best free guitar lessons. If that doesn't work for you, then maybe you can look for a meetup group in your town that is devoted to guitars.

Shrey’s Answer

Hi Juan,

Hope you have alredy started learning guitar. But, before you start learning guitar you need to also now the types of guitarists, different styles which you would want to strive towards.

Below are the basic different types of guitarist types:
1. Lead Guitarist
2. Rhythm Guitarist
3. Base Guitarist

You would want to be one of the either and you should check out videos on youtube for the same. Once you have decided to be. a lead or a Rhythm guitarist. You would accordingly learn chords or scales and that can be learned from Apps like Fender or you can do more research on the type guitarist you want to be and then learn from Youtube where would find Millions of guitar Lessons available which would help you become the Guitarist you which to become.

Shrey recommends the following next steps:

Decide the type of Guitarist you want to be
Buy the guitar according to the type of guitar player you want to be(electric or accoustic guitar).
Research of the type of guitar player you want to be and learn through youtube or you can use Apps like Fender for free and paid lessons.

Hi Juan!

In addition to Sam's great suggestion, you could also look for useful mobile apps (if you have a mobile smart phone) to help you learn guitar and music theory. I know that Fender has an app for guitar lessons for iPhone/iPad, and there are quite a few options out there for apps that will teach you chords, scales, etc. They aren't all free (in fact I think most are not), but they are usually still fairly accessibly priced.

If you have a guitar now, the best thing you can do is keep picking it up and trying. Don't wait for the perfect lesson!
