For someone interested in majoring in Electrical Engineering and minoring in Music (instrumental) and Mandarin, what careers would one recommend?

I am a senior in high school who has a passion for playing the violin and self- teaching themselves languages. I recently did a summer program at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology where I studied embedded controllers and processors and discovered my passion for engineering. The issue now is that I am not sure which career path I should take that would encompass all my interest. I was once considering possibly working for Pixar, but I am not sure if that is the best choice. I would really appreciate the advice. #engineering #disney #language-skills #violin

Do the engineering as your profession. Keep languages and music as hobbies. Enjoy!

When I was doing my senior project in college there was a project team doing work on a new kind of tuner for instruments, and there's all sorts of voice-recognition and translator type software and hardware both. Since languages and music both rely heavily on sound and electrical engineering often involves the design of hardware that processes or creates sound, you might be able to find a highly specific niche in that field.

But, that said, you'll be hard pressed to find a job that incorporates all of those interests as its highly specific. If you are spending time at a school like Rose Hulman, you are probably smart enough to be able to land any job you could ever want, but you may want to consider using your time at college to start your own company all together.
