What Are The Requirements For Being A Massage Therapist ?
The reason I’m asking that question is because I want to take a massage therapist class at Harper and I was wondering if there are any requirements for me to take in order to get my degree

Hi, to become a LMT, (licensed massage therapist) you will need a high school diploma or GED. Look for massage therapy schools in your area and se visit the campus, ask questions about their accreditations, how many hours are needed for your state, as it varies for different states. Make sure that the will help you through the licensing test. My school paid for the first test but if you didn't pass the were happy to con't to work with you until you passed.
Massage therapy can be very rewarding as there are multiply techniques to use to help different types of injuries. It is no longer about just relaxation, it is about wellness and seeing someone who previously could not do something and now can or no longer have pain is extremely rewarding.

Hi Amparo, if you want to become a massage therapist, the requirements typically include completing a massage therapy program from an accredited school, passing a licensing exam or obtaining certification, and meeting age and education requirements. Perhaps some states may also require a background check and continuing education to maintain licensure. It's important to check with your specific program and local licensing board for accurate and up-to-date information. Good luck!

Many schools out there, I went for a year to become a Massage Therapist and worked for two Chiropractors and then on my own. I won't mention the name of the school, it shut down, but I got what I needed at the time. There are local Massage Colleges in various states, good luck to you.

Because massage therapy is a very specific field compared to nursing, a bachelor’s degree is not required. It’s is a certification offered by the state through massage schooling not offered at a four year college. Because of this, people may think the requirements are minimal compared to other medical fields, but classes still required are anatomy and physiology plus specific types of massages that are offered. The degree takes approximately 18 months, but make sure the school you attend is accredited by the state, other wise it will not be accepted if you transfer out of state.
