AI is really hot, but not everybody has to be an AI expert and work on its further development. The industry needs far more people who know how to effectively use AI to solve real problems. So, if you have a mathematical bent, perhaps working on AI research and development is for you. However, if you really want to see AI help people, bring your interests, whether they are in medicine, urban development, financial advising, or just about any modern challenge that people have, and study how to apply AI to it.
Thank you, Charles for the advice.
