How to become a successful marketer in the future in 16 and wanna get a head start in any marketing industry ?

Any marketing job is fine I just love promoting things and sharing information about products and get sales etc ..

The marketing industry is evolving with the increased prominence and use of AI -- some are excited about this and some are not (and both are right, in my opinion). A way for marketers to become and stay relevant in this environment is to learn how AI is used to assist you in your marketing toolkit -- so as you start this journey, I'd recommend learning about how AI is used in marketing, and how it might be used in the future. One way to do this is to start searching the topic online and reading industry articles and case studies.

Being in New York City you should not have any drawbacks with finding an opportunity for experience in marketing or sales.

A fun venture would be to seek a part time job at Ticketron or Ticket Master doing customer service, data entry, sales, etc. You can go to their websites and read their Employment Opportunities page. Also, Leaf Home would provide you with the experience of doing advertising as it is an opportunity for people in your age range. You can also consider a part time job at a clothing or other retail store.

Register at some employment websites to become aware of jobs that fit your interest. Register at Snagajob, Indeed and Hire Teen and apply for any job that seems to be interesting to you. I have left some links for you below that you may find helpful .

You also should think about college for your future and possibly a degree in Media/Communications Studies or Business. There will be many opportunities for you, especially in New York City, if you take an academic route for your future career. In college, you will meet people who will be good contacts, possibly a mentor and get hands on experience through assignments and projects.

Since you want your experience now, take advantage of the many online courses in marketing. Try Girls In Marketing (link is below) EdX, Future Learn and many many others that you can find by doing a search online.

Hello Samiyah,
When looking to tackle a marketing career, you should start by gaining a firm understanding of the following.

Go to school, and take the following courses Business communications, at least 2 speech courses, pay careful attention to persuasive speech, take a few marketing courses even just marketing 101, an economics class, social media course, how to develop a website or find a website designer that is an independent contractor to help you, not some large firm, invest in some publishing software like Adobe, know how yo organize your clients notes and profile details with a CRM (customer relations management) software.

When you find the business or businesses you want to work with, develop templates for quoting out their product or services. Don't be afraid to contact someone through various media. Depending on the type of busibess you are in, you may need to be savvy in both social media, traditional marketing (letters, email, phone calls) and cold calling.

Client potential should be identified early on. If you were going to sell cheese for example, you could sell it to a wholesale distributor, or smaller mom and pop shops. Depending on the production capacity of your company, you may have a very narrow listing of clients you could deal with, or potentially till to target a broader target if you have production means to produce on a wholesale level.

If you sell a service, start your job by working in the field with those on the ground floor at that company. You need to understand what they deal with on a day to day basis, what clients exist, who are their top clients, their regular clients, what makes a client highly profitable to work with. Prepare campaigns that specifically target clients of interest. Don't wait to send s quote send it right away. Tell don't ask. Too many marketing reps are not up front, they wait for the quote out, but I found clients are much more responsive to a well written proposal, especially if I know what they may already need - generally - with the services I offer.

Sell what you know you can offer. Don't waste time. Sell like what you are offering will really help your company.

To be a great marketing person, you truly have to believe in the company you work for, and that whatever you are offering is a great product or service. If you ever find your fire and drive isn't there to market what e
you are selling, perhaps it isn't a good fit for you.

Marketing = to put to market.

People don't know you exist, if you never put your clients name or what they offer, put on the open market.

If you work as an independent contractor you just need a 1099 form filled out for your taxes. make sure you understand accounting and how to prepare an invoice and manage a general ledger. Most accounting software like quick books is pretty easy to set up, therr are even some good apps online.

Lastly, your persona. You sometimes have to be more professional got some clients, and less professional am for others. Speaking with a Blue collar organization, they may frown on you showing up in a nice suit. But for more important clients that are white collar, you may need nicer professional looking clothes.

As you develop your skills to negotiate a meeting, and acquire a client, be sure what you offer to your clients is in a translated format. Some clients don't care about all your certificates. They just really like your product and need it now. You should always be professional regardless of client type. Always be ready for a client to say no to what you are offering and yes. Never expect a client to work with you just because you know you are the best. Clients also work with people. Clients sometimes will only work with a company because of you. Loyalty must go both ways, that you assure good service, product, and quality assurance... and that your client isn't taking advantage of your company by demanding too much with their capacity.

Remember if someone is unhappy with you, your response should be quicker to mediate the issue, rather than delayed over a days or weeks later. If a client is truly a bad match for you and your company, it's ok to just walk away from that client. Sometimes that's one of the best things a marketing rep. Can do.
