What are the chances?
I would like to know the likely hood of winning the western Viz media competition: you submit a one shot of your story which showcases your art for a possible position on the weekly Shonen
I've been drawing for about 10 years and I'm 15, I've also been writing a lot of stories with imagery for about 2 years, I'm mostly self taught in both fields but I've from others work mainly people I admire in the this field of work.

I wish you a lot of success in the contest you are applying to ! It sounds exciting and part of the excitement truly is wondering if you'll win. It's not accurate to say what your chances would be for any contest. I would encourage you to enter the competition, but don't stop there, enter all the competitions you can find. The more you enter, the more you may be selected. Don't let anything discourage you. Stay motivated and focused on the art and stories you love to create. I've left a link below for you.
Some other competitions you can enter would be the Kyoto International Manga Anime contest, and the Manga Contest,
You certainly have much experience and have probably compiled a great portfolio already, so my advice is to not dwell on that one contest, keep up your creativity every way you can. Continue to draw and create stories to add to your portfolio or use for contests as they come about.
I wish you all the best !

The odds of winning any competition are largely dependent on the number of participants, the quality of their submissions, and the discerning eyes of the judges. While I can't predict your chances of winning, I wholeheartedly encourage you to give it a shot! Like you, I am also eager to participate in manga-related competitions, as it's the career path I'm passionate about.
Even if you don't clinch the top spot, just participating is a great way to expose your work to professionals in the industry. Don't let the fear of rejection or failure deter you, as there will always be more chances down the line. Many competition organizers, publishers, and companies keep an eye out for those who persistently participate year after year. It's a testament to your passion and determination, even when faced with setbacks.
Moreover, even if you don't win, your manga can still serve as an excellent addition to your portfolio or as a pitch to potential publishers! I'm cheering you on and wish you all the best in these competitions!
I've also been exploring other competitions, and here are a few you might find interesting:
