Most have already hit the nail from the hammer on this one. Soft skills training is important, and I can see that you tagged computer software. I'll relate to why this is important related to that subject. Let's say you have trouble talking in front of others and have trouble communicating your efforts with people. Even though you're a beast working in code. You are going to have to demo the work you did to the rest of your team and most likely to your client you're building this new feature for. Practicing communicating in front of people or even strangers would help you handle the nerves through practice. Problem solving and troubleshooting is going to be your number one skillset in software. You're going to be challenged with various types of algorithms in interviews. Most likely you're going to have an entry level challenge and if it's a very prestigious company they are going to grille you with your understanding of Big O notation. Drop into a platform called Leetcode or HackerRank online. Then try to solve as many challenges as you can to build your understanding of solving different solutions on the fly using different data structures. Stay motivated... As you adapted your skillset of communication. Most likely when you get interviewed. They will ask you to talk as your coding. To validate you know what you're doing. Again, practice makes perfect! Confidence is key. Talk to yourself as your solving your programming challenges. When your getting interviewed. They are analyzing your behavior. So even if you get stuck. Feel free to ask for help. They want to see how you troubleshoot. They are going to be reviewing all of this to see if you are a good culture fit for their team. Also, what are you learning on your own to stand out from the crowd?
