It's wonderful that you're interested in the "medicine" class. Medicine is like a beautiful mosaic, piecing together years of scientific knowledge. It's fantastic that you're already gaining experience by working with the elderly. This will be invaluable as you progress in your career.
Entering the healthcare field, whether you aspire to be a doctor, nurse, therapist, pharmacist, and so on, requires a solid educational foundation. Your college degree will be steeped in various sciences. As you move forward in your chosen program, you'll start to connect the dots between the facts you've memorized and how they relate to each other and your chosen career path.
You'll continue to gather both theoretical and hands-on experience, learning to approach problems with a scientific mindset. Consider yourself at the exciting starting line of your healthcare journey.

The quickest path into a medical career is to get a CNA certification. This can be done in as little as 8 weeks. Some employers will even pay for the course. After that you could get a certified medication aide certification. Or you could go on to complete an LPN or RN program.
