If I become a LVN will I have any college credits when I enroll into college to get my bachelors in nursing?
I am going to be certified as a Medical Assistant in about 8 months and I plan to take classes to become a LVN then eventually become a Registered Nurse.

Hey Lilly,
Although it is great you will have education and your MA, you will not have transferrable credits. The benefit you will have is you will have hands on experience in the field going into applying for an LVN program and that will help you stand out. That is unique and shows your eagerness to learn and dedication to the industry you are wanting to become a part of.

It depends on how your school is accredited. Talk to an advisor at your school. If they don’t transfer, you could always attempt to test out of certain prerequisites.

While you won't have credits to transfer to college, you have a good start on your path. You can work as a MA and get more exposure and experience in the field, increase your knowledge base and learn if this is the right direction for you. Don't be discouraged about credits not transferring; enjoy the journey!
