Hi Justin!
This is a great question. The most effective people manage their time well so they can get the most important things done. You have to ask yourself, "what's the best use of my time right now?" It really boils down to understanding how you spend your time now, listing everything that needs to get done, prioritizing that list, and then scheduling your time throughout to day to work on the high priority items first. It takes practice, but you can do it!
Here are links to articles from University of Georgia and Purdue University on the subject with some great suggestions for improving your time management.

I suggest starting with the "end" in mind. This means at the beginning of the day, think about what you would like to accomplish before the end of the day. These are your goals. Make sure they are achievable and realistic. Next, think about what gets in the way of your goal to include distractions. Some distractions include television, social media, etc. Once you have identified your distractions focus on reducing or eliminating them. For example, if your distraction is social media, turning off your device while you are working on your goal is a way to eliminate the distraction. Finally, devote an equivalent amount of time to achieving the goal. The time amount may vary depending on your goal. Continue the process daily and then stretch yourself to achieve weekly goals. In no time, you may find yourself more productive.

One way to use time effectively and be more productive is to use the Pomodoro technique. This technique involves setting a timer for 25 minutes and focusing on a task or set of tasks, and then taking a break for 5 minutes. You can repeat this process all throughout the day or just once, twice, a few times to achieve your goals. You’ll be more successful with this technique if you have a to-do list or set of goals with specific activities you want to accomplish so that you can break your work into bite-sized pieces to complete in the 25-minute blocks.
Secondly, you may want to consider how you can use Generative AI to perform routine tasks for you (for example, drafting emails, summarizing notes, doing research). Tools like ChatGPT and Google Gemini can help you with this, but outputs should always be checked for quality and accuracy.

Hi Justin-
1. I would recommend finding an industry or career that you find interesting. You likely have a long career ahead of you, will spend lots of time learning about that industry so you will need to like what you do to be successful.
2. Undertake the necessary educational requirements and do the best you can. Attend all classes, read all assigned to you, take good notes and study hard for exams. While you may find when you have your first job that it is different from what you learned in school, the above skills of showing up on time, being prepared by reading all information provided and taking good notes will serve you well for the rest of your career no matter where you end up.
3. Set meaningful goals. Not just easy goals but quantifiable stretch goals that make you work to achieve them.
4. Seek out more experienced mentors to help you understand how your industry works and help you understand your strengths and areas you need to work on and focus on those areas.
5. Have fun along the way and make use of technology to keep in contact with the contacts you make along the way. If you keep in contact with individuals you meet along your career path you may be surprised how they may help you in future.
Best of luck,
Sean

Hey there! Embracing self-improvement is a fantastic way to utilize your time. There's a myriad of methods to enhance both your physical health and mental prowess. For example, spending hours on our smartphones doesn't contribute much to our well-being. On the other hand, dedicating time to physical activities like hitting the gym can significantly boost your health. Remember, the opportunity to exercise is a gift, and maintaining your health should be a top priority. Don't worry if the gym isn't your scene - there are plenty of alternatives. You could enjoy a leisurely stroll in the park, try out yoga, or even engage in a sport. I've recently taken up pickleball and it's been an absolute blast!
Moreover, investing your time in learning can also be incredibly rewarding. Whether it's devouring a good book, earning online certifications, or even immersing yourself in a gripping documentary, these activities can be greatly beneficial for your mind. This is particularly true if you're exploring a subject that truly captivates you. Engaging in these activities will not only help you grow as an individual but also fortify your health. Embrace this journey of self-improvement and enjoy the rewards it brings!
