For those who have done apprenticeships for nursing certifications, was it worth it and what was the experience like?
I've seen a few hospitals and clinics offering apprenticeships for nursing certifications, and I was curious as to what that may look like and if you feel as if it was worth it. What are the positives and negatives of an apprenticeship? What did your day to day life look like as an apprentice? Any additional insights would be appreciated, thank you.

I did an internship right after I graduated nursing school. It was paid. I felt like I got a lot out of it and as it was paid. No loss for me at all.

Nursing apprenticeship/externship straight out of nursing school is a great opportunity! I personally thought it was a very needed component when I graduated nursing school through COVID times and helped with integration to ease my anxiety in moving away from the student nursing role into the mindset of a practicing licensed professional.
Pros: More hands-on clinical experience under a licensed professional without a license and to work closely with them to understand what the professional role is like.
Cons: You have to pay for it. You don’t have a license at this time and they won’t let you do everything, especially as all responsibility is on the licensed professional.
