HVAC indeed calls for some specialized learning, but don't worry, you can usually find this training at your nearby community technical college. Discover which vocational college offers this education, and you'll likely find they have strong connections with the local union, ready to assist you. It's a promising path, and with the right training, you'll be on your way to success!

So, you are looking to get in touch with the union handling HVAC Refrigeration Technicians. Well, you’d want to get in touch with United Association Local 32, in your area. This union covers Pipefitter, Plumbers, HVAC-Refrigeration Mechanics.
And if you want to get info on joining or their apprentice program I can give you info from the Seattle Area. But you’d probably want to get closer to home so look up the Union online for more information. Here is UA Local 32 apprenticeship program number (425) 271-5900.
Good luck John

Typically you start by getting hired by an HVAC union contractor (or Refrigeration contractor) as a “helper,” apprentice, or junior technician. Your employer will typically refer you for membership in the union within 45 days. You'll go into the union office and complete some paperwork.
