Shedrach’s Answer

Marine Biology is the study of life under the ocean. Marine Biologists try to understand how life works with marine organisms and their environment, but it is much more complex than it sounds. The field can be very specific. I know of someone who's studying the vision of a particular marine fish. It's an exciting and challenging field that is good for anyone curious about what goes on in our oceans.

Marine biology offers a wide range of career opportunities. Many of these jobs are within state or federal government agencies, but there are also more advanced roles available in research laboratories. If you're considering a career in marine biology, interning at NOAA during the summer is a fantastic opportunity for students.
