4 years of college
4 years of medical school
4 years of residency
I recommend during college that you get a job as a scribe. They pay you but that's not important. The most important aspect is that you get to work with doctors so you get an idea of what doctors do. Second, this will help you during medical school which is very difficult. Because you have the experience, it will be a little easier. My medical students who worked as scribes were just sharper because of their experience.

So glad you’re interested in Neurology!
It’s a very interesting field of Medicine . After completing medical school (4 yrs) you need to do a 1 year General Medicine Internship followed by a 3 year Neurology Residency (If you’re interested in Pediatric Neurology, the 1st Year is a Pediatric Internship in some programs). You will then have completed all of the training required to be a General Neurologist. Some people go on even further and do a Fellowship for a couple of years more to specialize in a specific branch of Neurology like: Multiple Sclerosis, Epilepsy, Vascular/Stroke, and many others. There are so many options!
