Some might choose to further their expertise by pursuing a fellowship, which could add an additional one to two years of specialized training.

Therefore, before one can independently practice as a neurologist, they would need to dedicate a minimum of 12 to 14 years to education and training. Beyond this, the number of years they have actively worked in the field contributes to their overall experience. This can greatly differ from individual to individual, depending on the path their career has taken.
