Thank you for your question. Many students have similar question. The most important is to find out what careers you have interest.
Below are my suggestions :
1. Think about what you have interest, e.g. your hobbies, favorite subjects, etc. and identify the related careers.
E.g. If you like music, would you like to be a musician, singer, musical artist, music producer, music composer, etc.
If you have interest in maths, would you like to be an accountant, engineer, banker, financial analyst, maths teacher, etc.
2. Find out more on these careers and determine what you have interest
3. Speak to someone who are working in these careers. Seek guidance from your mentor, school career counsellor, your parents, etc.
4. Shortlist 1-2 careers you would like to pursue
5. Explore the entry criteria of relevant subjects in colleges
Hope this helps! Good Luck!
May Almighty God bless you!

If you passed all of your classes you will be eligible for early release as a senior. I suggest that you still take a full course load even though you are not required to. Take elective classes during these extra periods. You may get some good career ideas and it will be free.
Look at your class schedule for next year. If you have free periods make an appointment with a counselor.

As a senior, a lot of things are probably going through your mind.
Make out time to visit your counselor or career advisor, you help you narrow down possibilities.
Sit down to think about what you want for yourself. This helps to keep your thoughts in check.
Think about your passions and what you're good at. This helps you to decide as well.
Don't feel pressure, this helps you feel relaxed enough to make informed decisions because at the end of the day, you want it to be something you are happy about.
Speak to your parents or your legal guidian. It helps to know there are people who support us.
Goodluck!!!

Hello Erik,
It’s great that you’re thinking about your future career path! “Best” is subjective, and the best career advice for a senior depends heavily on individual circumstances, interests, and goals. However, here are some general pieces of advice that can be helpful for seniors considering their career options:
1. Reflect on Your Strengths and Interests:
What are you good at? What skills and talents do you possess? Think about your past experiences, both in school and outside of school, and identify areas where you excelled.
What do you enjoy doing? What activities bring you joy and fulfillment? Consider hobbies, volunteer work, or even just things you like to do in your free time.
What are your values? What is important to you in a job? Do you value creativity, helping others, working independently, or something else?
2. Explore Different Career Options:
Research different industries and occupations. There are many resources available online and at your local library. You can also talk to people who work in different fields to learn more about their experiences.
Consider your skills and interests. Which careers align with your strengths and passions?
Think about your lifestyle preferences. Do you want a job that requires a lot of travel? Do you prefer to work in a team or independently? Do you want a job that offers flexibility?
3. Develop Your Skills:
Take courses or workshops to enhance your skills. This could include online courses, community college classes, or even just attending workshops or conferences.
Volunteer or intern in a field that interests you. This is a great way to gain experience and learn more about a particular career.
Network with people in your field of interest. Attend industry events, connect with people on LinkedIn, or reach out to people you admire for informational interviews.
4. Consider Your Financial Situation:
Research the salary potential of different careers. This will help you determine if a particular career is financially feasible for you.
Think about your debt and expenses. How much money will you need to earn to support yourself and your family?
Consider your retirement savings. How will your career choice impact your ability to save for retirement?
5. Don’t Be Afraid to Change Your Mind:
Your career path may change over time. It’s okay to explore different options and make adjustments as you learn more about yourself and the world around you.
Be open to new opportunities. Don’t be afraid to take risks and try new things.
6. Seek Guidance from Professionals:
Talk to a career counselor or advisor. They can help you assess your skills and interests, explore different career options, and develop a plan for your future.
Connect with mentors or role models. These individuals can provide valuable insights and support as you navigate your career journey.
Remember, your career is a journey, not a destination. Be patient with yourself, stay open to new possibilities, and don’t be afraid to ask for help along the way.
GOD BLESS!
