1. Explore the colleges review on Accounting subjects and find out the entry criteria
2. Attend the information sessions hosts by Accounting department of colleges. Speak to the professors and alumni on the career path if you can.
3. Work hard on academic to meet the entry criteria
4. There are many careers in account, e.g. Accountant, Auditors, Tax Managers, Finance Manager, Fund Accountant, etc. You can find our more to determine which aspect you have interest
5. Plan for the professional exam to achieve the certification

It is a recession proof for the most part industry. What that means is regardless if the economy is flourishing or struggling, the world needs accountants. Every year the majority of companies will need to be audited. Everyone will need there taxes done. None of these facts change based on how well the general societal economy is doing. Thus, a lot of times you can always find a job in accounting, and often feel very secure in said job. This allows you to have a lot more freedom in your job search.

Another reason is it pays well and helps you learn a ton about companies and other topics such as finance and marketing.
