Does going to a four year have benefits ?

I’m sure on going to a four year to get my business career done.

Thank you comment icon The best two resources I know of for learning about starting and running a business (which, if you only want to work in some related field in someone else's business, still gives you useful skills and knowledge), are Dave Ramsey's book EntreLeadership, and this workbook (https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/bc/content/ldsorg/topics/self-reliance/2017/14678_sgmb_book_eng.pdf?lang=eng). Knowing all this stuff doesn't require that you have a business degree. Katherine Avery

Nikolaos’s Answer

Hi Arely,

Attending a four-year college can offer significant benefits for your business career such as providing a comprehensive education, developing your critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and offering networking opportunities with peers and professors.

Keep in mind that additionally the college experience fosters personal growth, independence, and adaptability, which are crucial skills in the business world.
Having said that, I would encourage you to keep exploring your options, seek advice and mentorship, and weigh the benefits against your personal and career goals to make the best decision for you.

Best of luck!

Regards,
Nikolas

Your path is truly based on your own aspirations. In today's world, a degree isn't always a necessity to earn a substantial income. If you need additional guidance, Ramsey Solutions is a great resource to consider. I can vouch for this from personal experience - I manage my own business and have achieved this with a GED, without a college degree.

Laurie’s Answer

A bachelor's degree, which typically takes four years to complete, is a common requirement for many professions, particularly in the business field. Therefore, your career aspirations will largely determine if this path is necessary for you. One cost-effective strategy to consider if you decide to follow this route is to begin your studies at a community college. Here, you can earn an associate's degree and complete many of the fundamental courses that will count towards your bachelor's degree.

It's crucial to thoroughly research this option to determine if it aligns with your goals. Consult with your high school guidance counselor and connect with an admissions expert at the community college. These professionals can provide valuable advice and assist you in selecting courses that will seamlessly transfer to a four-year university.

Beth’s Answer

There is never just one path to achieve your goals, and your path can lead in many directions regardless of your choice. A four-year degree is the most traditional route to enter a career in business, and will give you the greatest number of options and support available. Most universities have strong career counseling & career center programs that are part of your degree program - those programs give you opportunities to network and develop interests and practice interviewing and join career fairs and so on.

Good luck to you!
