What was your biggest challenge working as a medical administrative assistant, and what was your biggest reward?

I have never worked. I will be 19 when I get my first job. I think I will like medical administrative assistant work.

You're navigating a new environment, meeting new faces, embarking on a new career, and adjusting to a new way of life. So, take your time to ride the learning wave. Don't hesitate to ask relevant questions when you're unsure about a task. Maintain your manners, but also remember that you're now a valued member of the team. You've earned respect for your role because they saw potential in you, which led to your hiring. The greatest relief comes when you finally return to the comfort of your home, where you can unwind and reflect on your experiences. Remember, this is a fresh journey, and everyone finds their own unique way to fit in. We're all unique individuals, after all. Just be true to yourself. Karla,
I am a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant so I work more on the clinical side of things than at the front desk. However, I would say that my favorite part of working in a clinic in general is when I’m able to help a patient who is thankful for the help we’ve provided. The hardest part is dealing with aggressive, unhappy, patients. I also enjoy knowing that I am providing for myself and my family through a worthwhile, meaningful, career and that I have created this life for myself. Best of luck to you in your career!

If you haven’t already, attend a community college to become a Certified Medical Administrative Assistant.
Apply to clinics whose mission you believe in.
Maintain a good attitude!
