Hi Nayeli,

It's really crucial that you pick a job that aligns with your personal interests or the career path you're planning to follow.

It's equally important to take some time to reflect on the skills you might need to work on. This could be anything from language proficiency, communication abilities, technical expertise, to managing a team, and so on.

With these thoughts in your mind, I believe it will be simpler for you to figure out which job suits you best. I truly hope my advice proves useful to you.

Warm Regards,
Paola

Doris’s Answer

Hi Nayeli,

Choosing your first job after graduation can be overwhelming, but try to see it as a step towards building your future career. Focus on gaining experiences that will help you reach your long-term goals. If you don't have a clear vision yet, that's perfectly okay! Consider what skills you want to develop and what interests you, and seek out opportunities that align with those interests.

Nayali, thank you for your question. I think sometimes it's important to let the job or career choose us instead of us choosing it. People will spend a lot of time trying to decide this when sometimes the answer is right in front of them. I would ask you what is currently interesting to you? That might be a subject in school a hobby that you have or just something that you always think about. Then maybe try and look into monetizing that. Sometimes the things we're doing right now can lead to lifelong passions that turned into very lucrative careers. I would also wonder what grade you're currently in if you're a freshman you have plenty of time. You should be networking, meeting people in different fields, and enjoying everything that college has to offer. If you're a sophomore time is still on your side but you may have also ruled out a couple jobs or careers that are not for you. If you're a junior then it's time to pick something that's been most interesting. Some state generalized and go with either business administration or some other degree that leaves lots of doors open. Now if you're already a senior then you should probably know which route you've studied and hopefully that leads to her career. However ultimately this is something that you should enjoy doing in their short term and in the long term. Create a list of non negotiables that you want your job to give you. That might be a high salary that might be work from home flexibility that might be the ability to travel, and then start crossing out some careers that don't fit your list. Either way, don't feel the pressure to decide right now. Worked for a year in a field that gives you life skills until you find yourself. There's nothing wrong with finding yourself even if that takes a year. Best of luck.
