How quickly will you adjust to finding your way around a college campus?
I’m worried about getting physically lost and not knowing where I am going, and therefore being late or missing a class. How quickly do you get the hang of it? And what are some tips for learning your way around? #campuslife

Hello Kayla,
I could totally relate to you! I was as lost as I can ever be trying to find my way around campus during my first week. But things got better after I downloaded a college campus map on my phone. That way you can easily locate where your classes and dining halls are. I also walked around campus to find where my classes were a day before the semester started so I knew exactly where I needed to go the next day. While you are walking on campus, keep an eye out for any landmarks, whether it be a tall and large building, or the bookstore. I used to live very close to a tall and weirdly shaped building, so I used it as my "compass" and I would walk in that direction whenever I was going home.
Don't be afraid to ask when you get lost, it also helps if you have classmates/friends to walk with you.
I hope this helps! Good luck!

It is confusing at first, as Yvonne said, especially if you are attending a large distributed school. I had the majority of my classes in one building, which made it fairly easy for me most of the week, however it made the few classes I had elsewhere even harder because I wasn't walking around campus so much. The tutors are usually understanding for the first week or two if you're late because you got lost, and the majority of older students are happy to point you in the right direction so don't be afraid to ask. You will start to get to know you're way round faster than you think though, especially the buildings you attend regularly.
