Hi Melanie,

One thing i did to stay organized in college was use a planner. I would write down any appointments I had, test dates, project due dates, homework, etc. so that I had one central location that had everything I needed to do. I found this really useful so that I did not forget any important assignments and was able to stay on top of my schoolwork since I could balance my time based on what I had coming up.

Another thing I did to stay organized was keeping my class notes separate. I had a notebook and folder for each class so that I made sure that I was not missing anything. If you plan on using a computer, I would recommend saving everything relating to each class in a separate folder so that every class has one place where you can find everything you need for that class.

Good luck!

Hi Melanie!

Staying organized in college can be difficult, especially as you start to branch out with clubs and organizations. If you have a smart phone I'd highly recommend you start by putting all of your classes and any meetings/work times into the calendar function so you have an easy reference of where you need to be at any time. Similarly, you might find it helps to schedule study and homework time into that calendar to stay on track. For course work, read the syllabus at the very start of the semester and you can often input all of you major project/test dates into the calendar or a daily planner right away.

To stay organized with your life in the larger sense, I'd recommend checking out the following article: https://www.forbes.com/sites/quora/2014/05/19/as-a-startup-ceo-what-is-your-favorite-productivity-hack/5931a28b6887

It has a lot of great techniques to structure out your plan and goals on both the macro and micro scale.

Good luck!
