Hello Camden,
Your question is indeed fantastic. Here are a few initial suggestions for you: consider applying for jobs at a nearby pet store or at veterinary clinics. You could also think about volunteering at a local animal shelter.
Once you've gained some hands-on experience working with animals, you might want to explore the possibility of becoming a veterinary technician or even a veterinarian.
A good idea might be to contact a local veterinary clinic and inquire if there are any opportunities for you to shadow a professional. This could give you a real feel for the job and help you decide if it's the right fit for you!

Camden,
While veterinary medicine is one career choice to help animals, there are a lot of other ones that can help them in directed and indirect ways.
People who are interested in helping animals and also interested in the legal system can go into animal law. This can be a career that leads to representing animal cases in court, helping to advise people who write laws pertinent to animals, and many advice areas to help people figure out how to navigate through laws to help their own animals.
There are also people who help to maintain and care for animals in non-pet settings, such as park rangers, zoologists, wildlife biologists, conservationists, marine biologists, livestock managers, aquarium caretakers, and others.
If you are more interested in behaviour, maybe a career in training animals is a better path. There are several ways to walk that specific path, some start in veterinary medicine, some focus entirely on animal behaviour and training. This includes pet training, zoo animal training, marine mammal training, police animal training, and training animals for movies/media.
Depending on what your area of interest is, there are a lot of ways to help animals. Sometimes, even if you are good at the business side of things, as all organizations have a need for management.
I hope that this was helpful to you.
