Other friends left the program due to poor grades- sometimes when someone excels in a subject in high school, they get to the college level and realize everyone is equally as talented, and they find themselves overwhelmed with the competition.
Some friends expressed that their parents "made" them pick a given major due to scholarship funding, parent being an alum, or similar reason. Just because it was the dream of someone else, doesn't mean it is the path the student wanted.
One friend told me that he switched majors after taking a new job- as a result, he aligned the major with the position for political pull at work.
The reasons for changes are endless. See if you are happy.

Hi Franceska! That is a great question. Some of us are still figuring out what we want to be when we grow up :) In my opinion, I think people change their majors often because after trying something for a while they may stumble upon other subjects that they are really good at and enjoy learning about. If you can find something that you love to do, are good at it, and can make a living out of it then you've found your match! I see that you are considering biology and are in Naples, FL, if you are considering marine biology you are in a great part of the country for that. If you're just interested in any kind biology, then that's great also we need more science experts - here's a link to a site I found about biology majors: https://www.zippia.com/biology-major/ Good luck!
