Yes, this is a really great place to start. An office administration role is key to enabling the day-to-day operations of a particular office. How are customers being directed to the sales department, how are inquiries for collecting money from customers handled, how are payments made to vendors, how are employees recording their working hours and time-off, etc? These everyday issues are usually handled by experts and/or departments within an organization. Knowing where the pieces fit together in an office setting are valuable skills that can be applied in many businesses; also a great foundation for furthering a Business Administration career. Knowing how the business makes money, maintaining profitable finances, managing the future direction of the business are some of the basics for a Business Administration role. Good luck on that dream of yours!

Even though it might sound unusual, fast food joints like McDonald's and Chick-fil-A offer fantastic learning opportunities. Here, you can climb the ladder from being a fry cook to a manager, and maybe even an owner, by mastering their systems. Essentially, the principles of Business Administration remain the same, whether it's a small business or a large corporation. The skills you acquire from such hands-on experience are beyond what books or classes can teach you. It's definitely something worth considering.

Hi there, yes it's helpful to have this experience and will provide a good background of what is needed to support a business. Business Administration goes a little further and brings you in touch with co-workers with different responsibilities in the business you're working in. It also prepares you for dealing with others outside of your business that you would routinely meet with or talk to in order to operate a business. Hope this is helpful.
