Is it better to live on or off campus in college?

My parents are trying to get me to live with them off campus while I'm in college, but I want to stay on campus to try to be more independent.

Hi Kasey:

Living on campus will help you develop independence, meet new friends, connect with your professors and experience social events. Although living at home provides for some creature comforts such as home-cooked meals, your own space (ie, bedroom), on-campus provides for a great college life experience; one that you will never regret. I hope this helps. Good luck to you!

Clint’s Answer

I regretted moving off campus my second year of college. If you decide to move off campus, try to live within walking distance. The campus is the hub of so many activities and social interactions. Living too far away completely diminishes that experience and opportunity to connect and interact with those around you.
