I really loved being an electrician. I got out of the building side of it because of health conditions, but I am basically still working with electronics in telecommunications. The thing about the electrical field is there are so many different aspects to it. You can be an installer, a repairer/troubleshooter, and Lineman(high voltage), inside wireman(medium voltage) or a low voltage electrician. There are so many fields, and they are all in demand, because everyone uses electricity in some form. The hardest part is finding what you love to do and then finding a job that lets you do it. I really think that being an electrician was the best trade and I have had benefits from it everywhere I have worked since. I love turning on the lights and seeing a electrical plan come together with working lights, appliances, robotic systems, etc. It is so fun to power something up, like fire alarm systems, with all the sensors and alarms. There is no better place to start!!! Just never stop learning. I am now an engineer in telecommunications, and I love it as well. Go for it!!!
