If you had said anything but engineering, I would say go for it. And I am not saying you can't, but you need to take real hard look at yourself first. I've seen engineering programs chew up and spit out some of the smartest people I've known, and they weren't trying to double major. If I were in your shoes, here is the decision I would make: I would major in engineering, focusing all my attention to that singular pursuit, I promise you an engineering undergraduate program will be challenging enough. Then, if you want to want to gain some business acumen, consider an MBA. They have lots of specialized ones now, and you could focus on Entrepreneurship or Engineering Management.

I think the combination of those two degrees will give you the most bang for you buck. Never underestimate the power of those three magic letters - MBA - if you imagine yourself having a career in business, you'll want to have those letters on your business card.

From experience, I actually did a double minor. I studied business and had 2 minors in MIS and Management. Let me tell you, time management was not easy. While most students were taking the bare minimum 12 hours per semester, I was never taking anything less than 18 hours and some semesters I took 21 hours. It was not easy, but it was worth it. If you are comfortable with taking on more hours and the homework that might come with that, I encourage you to do it.

Additionally, have you thought about graduate school? If you determine that your workload does not need to increase right now, you can always do your engineering degree now and then go back and get an MBA right after.

You will need to focus on stress and time management. In order to manage stress you have to manage your time wisely. You have to set a routine for yourself and stick to it for the most part. Once you get into the groove of a routine it will be much easier for you to manage your time and have enough time for everything you need to do (including relaxing). Make yourself to-do lists on a weekly basis, use Google calendar or a planner to keep track of events, deadlines, and due dates. In addition to setting a routine and sticking to it, plan out relaxing activities into your day. Or set aside a time, after everything is done for the day, that you can have "me" time. I have also personally found it essential to not only find time for myself but also make use of that time in a way that is best for me and my holistic wellness. I have found the HeadSpace app to be an essential tool in helping me relax and generally feel more relaxed throughout the day, Guided meditation, even if you have a busy schedule, will make you feel more at ease and relaxed throughout the day as a whole (not just when you have the time to relax and focus on that "me" time).
