Is it a good idea to include in common App a recommendation from a basketball coach for whom I had done an impressive fundraiser He is not my school coach. this is in addition to the recommendations from teachers?

Yes. It is totally appropriate to invite your coach to recommend you on the Common App. There is a section for recommenders to write it on the app after you invite the person on there. There is an option to choose advisors or coaches, so yes, it would be very good to have your coach write on your behalf. The coach can be an outside coach. Also ask the coach to write a hard copy letter that you can use for other applications, too ! Best wishes moving forward with this !
