Diego’s Answer

Im not one myself, but did a lot of research about it one time. So hope it helps until a youtuber can bring you more insights.

First you have to love gaming because you will be doing a lot of it, it would be a job now, not just a hobby.

You should pick your focus, being really good at one type of game, being funny, enternating, etc.

Then you should learn how to edit, theres a free software called davinci resolve you could use, and theres a lot of tutorials in youtube.

Now you just have to play, edit or stream, and be constant, it would take time and theres a lot of competition, so if you endure, you should see results.

Theres a lot of other tips, like interact with your audience, dont listen to nonsense, be creative, and have fun!

Dan’s Answer

Hi Daniel,

There are many aspects which are important to help you become a youtube gamer, but the first is obviously being really good at the platform that you want to play on. Aside from being really good at video games, you are also going to know a little bit about video editing, photo editing and thumbnail creation, marketing, and computer/pc technologies. It may seem overwhelming at the start to understand that you need to have knowledge in all these things, but you don't need to have everything perfect to get started. There are plenty of free software for video streaming and photo editing that can get you started. I use OBS myself for streaming. While photoshop is one of the best programs for editing and thumbnail creation, you can find a lot of free aps for your mobile devices that will do the same.

Many times fellow youtubers will be willing to give you advice via their channel or in their discord chats, and you may also find some youtubers who share their experiences (both successes and failures) on their channel. Keep in mind the actual gaming is only about 50% of the job.

Best of luck and see you on Youtube!
Dan
