What are some negatives of being a Radiologist?
I would like to hear feedback on this from someone that has thought about or currently in Radiology.

Radiologists don’t get as much patient interactions except the interventional radiologists. This is good and bad.
You usually need to read films in the office but I’m not sure if you take an ER shift if you need to stay in the ER overnight.
Because you don’t have much of a history of the patient you need to look at the Xray, CT, ultrasound , MRI and try to help the doctors make a diagnosis.

I'm an anesthesiologist, but I get to provide anesthesia for patients undergoing procedures performed by interventional radiologists. They definitely have a fair amount of patient interaction. It is definitely a challenging job with a long road to get there, but the rewards are great. Good luck!
Thank you for the advice, Brett.

Hi Maddy - Some negatives of being a radiologist include long hours, high stress due to diagnostic responsibilities, extensive education and training requirements, potential exposure to radiation, and the need for continual learning to keep up with technological advancements. Additionally, the job can be isolating since it involves minimal patient interaction.
Thanks for the advice.
