Steven’s Answer

Hi Ameenah! My name is Steven and I have a Kin degree from Umass Amherst! I can tell you that this field opens a lot of doors in different directions. From the degree you can go in the direction directly of positions like physical education, personal training, group class training and you will be far ahead of any of your "competition" who have just the certifications. You can also take your education a step further and head into programs for physical therapy, med school, physicians assistant, sports medicine, physical trainers. Even myself the degree has separated me from my peers and I now work in telecommunications and have moved up quickly into management! I wish you the best of luck with your journey!

Jared’s Answer

Hi Ameenah, there are many things you can do with a kinesiology degree. Kinesiology is a broad field and there are a lot of people who work in the field while only having a basic understanding of the human body and exercise, etc, so a degree & certifications will set you apart as a professional. Here are a few career options with a degree: personal trainer, fitness manager, sport psychologist, kinesiology professor, athletic trainer, physical education teacher, group exercise trainer, exercise physiologist, wellness coach, cardiac rehab technician, nutritionist, etc. There are many options and most require additional specialty training and certifications, but it is a great career field with many options. I hope this was helpful.
