Dianna’s Answer
Look into what you’re good at and willing to study. Be realistic with yourself on how hard you are actually willing to want to work and set short term goals to achieve your long term goals. Take it in a pace that you can handle. Look into the programs that fit your work ethics and personality. This will make it easier for you to actually feel comfortable, confident and happy as you move along.

Hi! The medical field is quite varied, so you first need to narrow down the field! What are your strengths and talents? If you are good at technology and or maintenance and repair, biotechnology is a great field. If you like puzzles and experiments and working with instruments, laboratory is wonderful! If you love people and are very compassionate, nursing or social work within the medical field might be your thing. Of course there are many specialized physicians, too. How much time can you or do you want to devote to the educational aspect? How important is work-life balance to you? Whatever area you choose to enter you will need a good science and math background with a mix of liberal arts courses. A well rounded education is always important. Also check into tech schools. A guidance counselor can help you assess your interests and skills and help you search the field for a good fit. Happy searching!

Your question doesn’t make clear what aspect of medical care you are interested in, so I will suggest that you start by considering the top of the field first. This would mean going to medical school to become a doctor. If that is your wish you must first go to college. You will need to study biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics, ideally but not necessarily up to calculus. There are many other choices you might make, of course. To help you figure out what you want to do I would suggest you start by talking to your school guidance counselor. If you have some ideas about what work in the medical field would be most interesting to you it would be good if you could meet someone who works in that field. Your parents, your family doctor, or anyone you can talk to who works in a medical field should be able to give you some guidance.
