There is nothing wrong with not knowing what you want your major to be in college. In fact, many students select "undecided" as their major when applying to school and don't decide to declare or change their major until their junior year. However, it's important to speak with your guidance counselor before you do anything to make sure that when you declare or switch your major, you don't lose any credits.

Hi Cassie,

I was in the same boat as you coming out of high school! I didn't know what I wanted to do or where I was going to end up. My best advice would be to find a school where you feel comfortable and has some options that interest you most. You'll learn a lot about yourself the first couple years in college and hopefully that opens your eyes to something you love! Your first 2 years of classes are usually general requirements, but you will also have the opportunity to take a couple introductory classes in programs that might peak your interest! Give those classes a try and hopefully that will lead you to a career you are happy with and love. That's what happened to me! I wish you the best of luck.

It is not hard to switch majors in college. Some people do start out as undecided major and take a few classes to see what they are passionate about. Definitely talk with your advisor before switching majors as they are their to help you guide your dream career path.
