Hi Patricia! There are many great universities in Florida so it's difficult to pick just one. However, having options is always a good thing. I attended Florida International University (FIU) and University of South Florida (USF) and my experiences in both universities were positive. The instructors were understanding and accommodating and the universities continue to provide abundant resources and student activities that encourage student engagement (I highly recommend getting involved, but the way). They are public universities in the state and their main campuses are large-so are the student populations (around 50,000). FIU is located in Miami while USF is located in the Tampa Bay area with campuses in Tampa (main), St. Petersburg (on the waterfront), and Sarasota-Manatee. I think the cost is on par with other state universities. Both have reached preeminent status along with UF and FSU. USF joined the Association of American Universities (AAU) recently, the only other institution in the state alongside UF. Last but not least, they made the top 10 best colleges in the state according to Niche. I hope you find this information helpful. I've included links below.
