Hi Samantha: Virginia is a great area for scholarships. You have Government grants and school grants and great places to explore. As a 9th grader I'd take my time and look for summer jobs in your local Courthouse. The Courthouse is downtown so how you get there is a question only you can answer. Once there, go in and sit and watch. You can learn a great deal by watching. Talk to local and Judges. They will give you great tips on local jobs and local scholarships. The Federal Government also has great scholarships - most designed for specific government jobs.
As a 9th grader I'd take my time. You have years to worry about this. Have fun, enjoy school and your friends. Law is a great profession... but the best lawyers are the well rounded ones. Enjoy!

Hello Samantha,
Fantastic inquiry, and hats off to you for your forward-thinking approach! It's true, law school can be quite a financial commitment. Many individuals choose to balance their daytime jobs with evening classes to cover the costs of tuition and textbooks. Plus, some companies even provide tuition assistance as a part of their employee benefits.
As a freshman in high school, you might want to explore opportunities in public service or social justice. Non-profit organizations often welcome young interns or volunteers. There are even scholarships available specifically for those who work with underserved communities. Here's a link you might find useful: https://www.law.uci.edu/about/public-service/public-interest/financial-assistance/public-service-scholars/
For a more general overview, the American Bar Association provides a comprehensive resource: https://www.americanbar.org/groups/departments_offices/fund_justice_education/aba-legal-opportunity-scholarship/
Keep up the great work, Samantha! Your future is bright.
