IBM’s Answer

How do I secure a mobile job in the computer tech field that advances towards cyber security?
The best way is to get a certificate. The more certificates, the better your chance. Pursue a degree. Mobile is the future and eventually a security will focus on mobile. Currently all security policies include mobile and it's assumed.

What should I focus on advancing personally to better suit the employers I will come across?
Certifications and constant training. New threats arise every month. Today the largest mobile threat is coming from AI Phishing via text on mobile. Having these skills today may not be the skills I'm looking for tomorrow. Learn to "pivot" you skill set to match my needs. Company initiatives change regularly and frequently. On month it's sustainability, the next month it's AI, the next month it's crypto/hyperleger. If you are flexible and well rounded you can fit any employers need. You need to play many positions on the team and not just be great at 1.

How do I assure security for constant work in the field? Stay up to date with trends, stay versatile, be able to speak on any topic while not necessarily knowing everything. Always look to expand and improve in you area. Hearing about 1 new thing is worth spending a few hours to learn about it. If it looks interesting and easy, it my be your newest area of expertise at a time when employers and in demand for that skill.

Hello Alexander!

According to Ask Ai www.iAsk.ai:

How to Secure a Mobile Job in the Computer Tech Field that Advances Towards Cyber Security

Securing a mobile job in the computer tech field, particularly one that leads towards a career in cyber security, involves several strategic steps. Below is a detailed breakdown of how to approach this goal.

1. Understand the Landscape of Mobile Technology and Cyber Security

Before diving into job applications, it’s essential to understand the intersection between mobile technology and cyber security. Mobile devices are increasingly becoming targets for cyber threats due to their widespread use and the sensitive information they often contain. Familiarizing yourself with common vulnerabilities in mobile applications (such as insecure data storage, improper SSL certificate validation, and insufficient encryption) will give you insight into what employers look for in candidates.

2. Acquire Relevant Skills and Certifications

To stand out in the competitive tech job market, focus on acquiring skills that are highly valued by employers:

Programming Languages: Proficiency in languages such as Java, Swift, or Kotlin for mobile app development is crucial. Understanding these languages will help you develop secure applications.

Cyber Security Fundamentals: Gain knowledge of basic cyber security principles including network security, threat modeling, and risk assessment. Consider certifications like CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).

Mobile Application Security: Look for specialized courses or certifications focusing on mobile application security practices. Organizations like OWASP provide resources specifically tailored to mobile security.

3. Build Practical Experience

Hands-on experience is invaluable:

Internships: Seek internships or entry-level positions that allow you to work on mobile applications while gaining exposure to security practices.

Projects: Work on personal projects or contribute to open-source projects related to mobile apps and their security features. This not only enhances your skills but also builds your portfolio.

Networking: Engage with professionals in the field through platforms like LinkedIn or local tech meetups. Networking can lead to mentorship opportunities and job referrals.

4. Tailor Your Resume and Online Presence

When applying for jobs:

Resume: Highlight relevant skills, certifications, and experiences that align with both mobile technology and cyber security roles.

LinkedIn Profile: Maintain an updated LinkedIn profile showcasing your skills, projects, and any endorsements from colleagues or mentors.

Portfolio Website: If applicable, create a portfolio website where you can showcase your projects related to mobile development and cyber security.

5. Prepare for Interviews

Interviews often include technical assessments:

Technical Questions: Be prepared for questions related to both mobile development and cyber security concepts.

Scenario-Based Questions: Employers may present hypothetical scenarios involving potential security breaches; practice articulating how you would address these issues.

6. Continuous Learning

The fields of technology and cyber security are constantly evolving:

Stay updated with the latest trends by following industry news through websites like Krebs on Security or Dark Reading.

Attend workshops, webinars, or conferences focused on both mobile technology advancements and cyber security developments.

By following these steps diligently, you can position yourself as a strong candidate for mobile jobs that pave the way toward a successful career in cyber security.
