What are some ways I can gain experience in civil engineering during college?

I am a high school senior who wants to study civil engineering in college and I'm looking for ways to make myself stand out before graduating college and looking for a job.

If your college has a career advising office or something similar to that, I would recommend reaching out to them. They can help you find internships and other opportunities.

You could also search Google for civil engineering internships. I also imagine most local or state governments will have a civil engineering department that could have openings for college students. At the very least, you could reach out to them to get connected to professional civil engineers and ask them for career advice.
