What's a technique to look through every valid past activity and achievement to put into a college application? #Fall24

It's helpful to put activities and circumstances outside school into my college app, but I'm wondering about how to determine the validity of my activities and whether I should start from middle school (most active in outside school work) , or freshmen year.

Hi Carol! Great question. I would definitely highlight activities you have done the longest & ones that you have led/held a leadership role in. Colleges and Universities love to see consistency and leadership (for example, a sport you've done and been a captain of). For how far back you should go, I think beginning freshman year is a great place to start unless you've done something consistently/impactful before then. I would stray away from adding every thing you have done to picking the top activities that showcase you - what you're passionate about, what you like, etc. Hopefully this is helpful, good luck!
