What other medical-related careers are available to you once you have earned your CMA program certifications?
I'm attempting to obtain my CMA credentials at Job Corps right now, and I'd like to hear more about the industry from people who are employed in hospitals or the CMA program.

While you're in your medical career, never stop learning. Attend all meetings and study on new technologies. People in medical careers need to always continue with their education. Not necessarily going back to school, but read medical journals; go to the library, and check out a medical book; read online, ask if there's anything new in medicine or medical information. Mostly, talk to other employees, they might know something you don't, or they might be able to point you in the right direction about where you can find the correct answer. You can also become a member of AHIMA, or the AMA. The AMA is the American Medical Association, AHIMA is the American Health Information Management Association or you can get information from the AMA( American Association of Medical Assistants.
Always dress appropriately and no jewelry except a wedding ring or engagement ring; cleanliness; keep your hair out of your face and eyes; it is recommended not to wear any perfume or body sprays because you'll be around patients who may be allergic. Do not chew gum, it is unprofessional; if you're going to wear make-up, be tasteful, don't wear a lot; and finally ,have good posture, sit up straight and walk with confidence.

Hello dear, I have successfully completed a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) training program. Although I am currently not employed, I am actively exploring job opportunities and career paths that a Medical Assistant can pursue. Here are some options I've discovered:
1- Medical Office Assistant
2- EKG Technician
3- Phlebotomy Technician
4- Health Unit Clerk
5- Medical Claims Examiner
6- Public Health Inspector
7- Surgical Assistant
8- Nursing Assistant
9- Home Health Aide
For the first five options, you can directly apply with your CMA diploma. For the remaining options, the knowledge gained from the Medical Assistant course can provide a solid foundation for further studies. For more information, you can visit the website of Eagle Gate College, where they discuss alternative job paths for Medical Assistants.
