Leslie’s Answer

Dan,

Your learning journey might include:

Math and Science Magic: Having a good grasp of math, particularly geometry and calculus, along with science subjects such as physics, is super important. These subjects will be your best friends in understanding the nuts and bolts of structural design and principles.

Art and Design Adventure: Why not add some colors to your skills by taking art classes? They'll help you unleash your creativity and sharpen your design skills. Remember, a good sense of aesthetics can make a world of difference in architecture.

Don't forget to explore any chances you might have to intern or job shadow with local architects. It's a great way to get a real-world taste of the profession.

Here's a fun and easy guide on how to become an architect after your 12th grade! First, pick the Science Stream in your high school years (10+2). You'll want to focus on subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. These are key for any architecture course, as they help build a solid foundation.

Morris’s Answer

It's not often discussed, but I believe that pairing architecture studies with a course in communication or public speaking, and even advanced writing, can be really beneficial.

No matter how far you progress in your architecture career, you'll always need to showcase your work to a diverse audience. This means your public speaking abilities and how you explain your work can make a big difference. There are many skilled architects out there, but if they struggle to explain their project and its results to stakeholders who might not be well-versed in architecture, it can sometimes affect the success of their work.
