What is one difficulty you have while choosing a major ?

Hi guys,
So this question is probably the question that many people ask, but one difficulty I have is choosing a major that fits me best. What I want to do most with my life is help people around me in any way that I could, so I am debating on a Psychology major or a registered nurse both topics are so interesting to me but I want to choose one for sure, does any one have any tips?

Hey Amaris! This is a great question. If you are truly passionate about both, you can double major! Like many college students, I double majored and found that to be the best way to pursue both my interests. This does require more planning as you need to make sure that you can indeed complete the requirements for both majors as well as any other course requirements that you school mandates. I would talk to your first-year advisor as they can help you plan out your courses. Another option is to major in RN and minor in Psychology or vice versa.

Ria recommends the following next steps:

Plan out requirements for a double major with your course advisor.

One other thing that you can do to help you to decide is to talk to as many people in both fields as you can. Ask them about their schooling, daily experience at their job, ask them about prior job experiences or variety within the field. This will help you get a better understanding of what it will be like to work in the field and which you think you would enjoy more. Additionally, if there is ever a chance to shadow a professional in the field or do an internship, the first-hand experience can really show you what it's like to work in that field.
