which types of lawyers make the most money?
I am considering law school and want to see what the return on investment would be. also interested in knowing how much each type makes, and what a typical work day, week, month, and year look like, along with hours worked and the level of stress.

Hello Kaye,
Upon receiving your message, I was all set to draft a comprehensive reply addressing all your queries. However, after going through Bob's thoughtfully composed response, I realized that he has covered all the essentials, leaving me with nothing more to contribute. Pursuing a career should never be driven solely by the prospect of financial gain. While money does have its role, the primary factor should always be your passion and aptitude for the field. Once you've identified the area that best fits your interests and skills, start exploring ways to break into that field. This applies to any profession, not just law. The more you love what you do, the less taxing it will feel, and you'll be better equipped to manage any stress that might come along the way.
Wishing you all the best on your journey,
Colman

Hi, Kaye. I am glad to note your interest in the practice of law. I found it to be a most rewarding career, and certainly being an attorney can offer many rewards, pecuniary gain among them.
Allow me please to answer your queries in reverse order, as your initial question is so key I want to end with it.
For a typical day of an attorney, allow me to provide what has come to be known as the lawyer's answer: it depends. Your workload, assignments, daily or monthly calendar, etc., will all vary according to your employer, your capabilities, the type of law you choose to practice, and your own energies and interests.
As for stress levels, recall kindly that stress is something you place on yourself. There is no substance known as "stress" waiting to descend on you and plague you during your practice. To be under pressure, or not, is a matter of choice, your choice. Always remember that during your career, no matter what vocation you choose.
And now to money.
Kaye, my earnest plea and advice for you is never to embark upon any career solely or even primarily for monetary gain. If you wish to become an attorney and practice law, do so because this is the area in which you believe you can most make a difference for society, for the earth that we all share. Be an attorney becuase you wish to see justice done, the underprivileged or forgotten represented, wrongs made right, injured people made whole.
Ours is a calling of service, so if you join our ranks be prepared to serve. That must be your chief mindset.
The money may come, or it may not, but the satisfaction of having brought fairness to an unfair world is the greatest compensation of all.
May God bless you and guide you in your choices and in your life.
