Hi there! I think it’s possible to work as a CNA during your ultrasound program, but it’s my opinion that most medical programs (ultrasound, radiology) are quite demanding and you will be, most likely, doing 40 hour week clinicals sometime during the program, which would be challenging. That being said, there are some people who need to have employment during that time. If given the choice, I would say that it would be better to concentrate on your program, finish well, and you will have a great career.

Yes, you can absolutely work as a CNA while going to an ultrasound tech program. The most flexible CNA positions are within the hospital where you can schedule around your school schedule. Most of these shifts are 10 or 12 hours so you only work 3 or 4 days per week, leaving plenty of time for classes and studying. Definitely research your local Ultrasonography program(s) and their class schedules and then start looking for CNA positions that work around that. Hope this helps!
