Teresa’s Answer

Hello Grace,

You're not alone! Choosing the perfect career path is often more of a winding road than a straight path for many of us. Concentrate on the work that brings you joy, the skills you're eager to learn, and where your talents and passions align. By doing so, you're already navigating the right course. Remember, it's perfectly normal for your career to evolve over time. Take me as an example, I began in marketing, transitioned into sales, and now I'm thriving in operations. These were all conscious decisions I made throughout my journey.

Wishing you nothing but success!

Nicole’s Answer

Hey Grace!

I don't know how old you are but I think society puts a LOT of pressure on American kids on deciding what they want to be when they're 18. We're still kids at 18! We shouldn't feel pressure to jump into something JUST to pick a direction after high school.

What are you passionate about? Do you have any hobbies you can turn to a business? Do you have a subject in school you love the most? Do you want to help others? There are SO many things to consider and plenty of time to figure it out, I didn't know for sure who i was until I was 30!!! Please don't rush yourself. Trust that you will figure it out when you do and until then, do things that make you happy AND make you money. =] You've got this!

Hello Grace,

To be successful in any circumstance, you must master the habit of Proactivity.
As human beings, we are responsible for our lives. Our behavior is a function of our decisions, not our conditions. We can subordinate our feelings to our values. We have the initiative and responsibility to make things happen.

My suggestions are:

Isida recommends the following next steps:

Near the institution where you study, there are career counselling departments, where you can receive the right mentoring and establish contacts with companies looking for staff.

Anthany’s Answer

I think the simple answer is just that there are pros and cons to every career. Some careers may fit better than others for people but over all there's a lot to take into account such as pay, your work schedule, the demand for the field, etc. Plus, its not like people are only good at one thing, for the most part people have a variety of skills that can apply to multiple career fields so it really just comes down to if you feel like the pros outweigh the cons that you'll have to face.
