If my strengths are productive and high self esteem and my hobbies are talking, giving good advice and, taking care of one another, what types of careers or industries might best fit me

Because I know what I want to do be when I grow up, but is it really the best choice? Is this career path really for me? #careerchoices #pediatrics #pediatrician

Tonya’s Answer

Hi Ada! Have you thought about Account Management? In most companies, account managers are responsible for maintaining and development account relationships. I work in telecommunications, and my responsibilities include bringing solutions to my customers that will help them solv problems or make their businesses more productive. I get to learn about lots of different companies and their businesses as well. Having confidence in yourself and the services you are providing is critical to building trust with your customers. And being highly motivated is absolutely necessary , as more often then not, your salary will be partially dependent on increasing the sales and revenue that each account generates. It's kind of like owning your own business - while being backed by the resources (both financial and personnel) of a larger corporation.

My first thought was psychology. You like talking, you like helping others. The world needs more mental health help, especially our children. You may want to look into being a child psychologist.

Austin’s Answer

Hey Kaya interesting question. Pediatrics is definitely an option and would seem to fit with the things which you outlined as your strengths. The good thing is though that your strengths are applicable to a good number of other jobs as well!! Have you ever thought about going into consulting? In consulting you get to talk A LOT and giving advice/helping companies with their issues is literally your job. It is definitely more business heavy than pediatrics, but it uses your strengths in a different way.

I hope this helps you think about your strengths in a more abstract way.
