Getting to know yourself and how your personality traits relate to people involved in various career opportunities is very important in your decision making process. During my many years in Human Resources and College Recruiting, I ran across too many students who had skipped this very important step and ended up in a job situation which for which they were not well suited. Selecting a career area is like buying a pair of shoes. First you have to be properly fitted for the correct size, and then you need to try on and walk in the various shoe options to determine which is fits the best and is most comfortable for you to wear. Many careers could be right for you.
For example, I am in the tax accounting field and we are constantly working as a team and pushing each other to reach our goals of getting the finished product to our client on time. We also constantly encourage one another to learn new things and are big supporters of one another.
However, there are other careers that could work for you too. Do you like children? Teaching may be a good option because as a teacher, it is your job to get the children in your class to understand the material and have those children succeed. During this process, you are constantly cheering on children when they do a good job. Additionally children can be very thankful to many teachers.
Ultimately, I think most jobs take some type of team work and as long as you join a good team, there will be cheering that you are looking for!
Hope this helps!
