Here are a few that I found for North Carolina!
North Carolina Nurse Scholars Program: This merit-based program offers scholarships of $5,000 annually for BSN students. It requires recipients to work in North Carolina after graduation or repay the scholarship with interest

Nurse Education Scholarship-Loan Program (NESLP): This program considers financial need and offers awards ranging from $400 to $5,000. Recipients must fulfill work requirements in the state or repay the funds.

North Carolina Foundation for Nursing Scholarships: These scholarships support nursing students at various educational levels, including the Eunice M. Smith Scholarship and the Loretta Ford Scholarship for graduate students

Hello, Yoselin !

You certainly can apply for Nursing oriented scholarships, and there are many, however nothing really determines your eligibility and the end result of applying.

I would advise that you apply to all and any scholarships to help you with your educational costs. The way to find out if you qualify to apply to each scholarship is to read the scholarship information, as it will state what categories you must be in to apply for the scholarship. There are scholarships based on gender, age, year in school, already in college having a certain major and there are local, private, corporation and federal scholarships. Scholarships are there to apply to and you would not be limited to applying for only the nursing category scholarships. As long as you fulfill the description of the scholarship, you can apply for it.

So, let's see what the process is like. First, you do a search online for "Scholarships for Nursing Students", "scholarships for North Carolina students" and whatever locale or category you are in. You will see many names of scholarships with descriptions. Determine if that is for you and apply. Once you apply, it is just a matter of waiting to hear back as to whether you were chosen for the scholarship. Your application would have gone through a screening process with the other applications received and scholarships are given to whomever the donor chooses. This is why you must apply to very many numerous scholarships to increase your chances of being chosen. It may seem like a lot of work just thinking about it, but it is going to be well worth the time and effort.

Other places you may explore for scholarships are your local public Library, your local Chamber of Commerce and your City or Town Hall. Also try your local hospitals. I also advise going to the websites of some major medical corporations and pharmaceutical companies as they may have nursing scholarships. Another way to take this is to search for scholarships online based on your gender or ethnic background or nationality.

You are most likely "eligible" to apply for a large amount of scholarships, so do not limit yourself to only nursing. Once you start reading the scholarship websites, you will see that you can apply for many and your eligibility to apply will go farther than just the nursing scholarships.

I hope this helps and I wish you all the best !
